Cameron came home from school looking like this. HOLY CRAP. (And Brandon thought his ears were big before)
He got a mosquito bite on it last night, and I guess he's my son in the swelling department. It is literally sticking straight out to the side.
Swollen Ear
Non-swollen ear.
Notice in the upper picture how much you of his head you can see behind his ear.
And lucky for me, Eamon just walked in from the backyard to declare loudly, "Mom!! I have to go poo!!" Will it ever end?

That is some intense swelling going on there! All that from one mosquito bite?? Wow, poor kid.

That is an awesome picture. Poor Cameron - I hope the swelling goes down soon!
My favorite part is how uneven then are. Hopefully no one at school noticed. That kind of thing can scar you for life.
HOLY CRAP is right! that is crazy! so glad you took the photo! that is too funny. and, no, "it" never ends...:)
Wow! I bet he could hear things that were happening in the next county.
That is an awesome pic. At least your son was not saying that he had pooped, right.
Wow! That is one heckuva bite! :) Cute kiddo though...
Happy POW.
Ouch! I swell up like that. But mine was a bee sting on my arm. I felt like the elephant girl.
Poor little guy! I have quite a record with bizarre insect attacks - such as the attack of the biting preying mantis (in my shirt)...the bee in Target that "bee" lined straight into my neck and stung me (ever seen someone freaking out in the check out line with seemingly nothing wrong?) Oh, and Erik almost swallowed a huge moth one time when we were camping, as we hung out with friends around the campfire it flew straight into his mouth and I still get laughing when I picture him phpewing it out! So I can TOTALLY relate.
Oh my gosh, that is quite a reaction! It must feel so odd to have his ear out of place. Looks like he's handling it like a trooper, though.
Wow! That must have been a gigantic mosquito to leave a bite like that.
Happy POW!
OH my golly that looks bad. He seems to be taking it well though... : )
i feel bad that i laughed out loud when i saw this... but i'm sure that is why you posted it...
Awwww, poor kid. As someone who had her chin swell to twice it's size the other day, I can totally relate.
That just looks really noy right!
Poor guy! I hope he is better now? April
dude! we have *bulbous* ear pics of Alex too! lol!
My son's ear is currently very similar. He went to daycare with a slight reddening of the earlobe, we presumed it was a mosquito bite. I picked him up in the afternoon and his ear was twice the size and pushed forward as a result of the swelling. We have been to the doctor and they have prescribed a topical cream and antibiotics if an antihistamine doesn't work at first. It's reassuring to come across your story... It is worrying to look at.
