Cara Haira

Okeeee folks. I got a haircut. Like 2 weeks ago. Then, the following week, I colored my hair a more fun and VIBRANT mahogany something Feria color. It's okay indoors, but outside, BAM. It's reddish purple. It's great.

Anyway, the first picture is of a naturally dried freak mess of frizzy wave. Got that? I repeat...Freak mess of frizzy wave.

Next photo is the magical transformation of freaky to sleeky...or maybe it was just an out of focus shot. You decide.

Final 2 are the ferociousness of fabulousity. Yes, ferociousness of fabulosity. You heard right.


Oh baby. And special thanks go out to Adrienne who gave me the great cut. Also owner of the lambs we babysat. I'll get to that....

Nerdy Bird

When I was in 7th or 8th grade, I pretended to be sick so I could stay home from school. After a little while, I was bored, so I picked up a book. I read The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway. I didn't love it or anything, but by around 2:30 or so that day, I finished it. I felt like such an adult for reading it, if not a little nerdy for wasting my ditched day. (Though what can you do when you're staying home at 13 anyway?) I just remembered that and I thought I'd share with my Adventure-starved friends....

Don't worry, I'll get to the lambs soon enough....

This Really Ticks Me Off!!

So in one day, we found 5 ticks on the neck of one of the lambs we were lambsitting.

We saved them all in ziplock baggies for some reason, maybe just to really drive it home. So that means that we have like an infestation of ticks on the side of our yard. NASTINESS! Never come to my house, or you might get a giant tick on you. And they aren't even that small. The biggest one is about the size of a fly. YUCK. Add it to the list of my unfavorite things for the house.


You'll only see 4, but that's because they keep attacking one of them, therefore, they are 1 together in that puff of lamb's wool on the left.

We got out our Eyeclops (click for details) to magnify them later that night. It was GROSS.

And to add to the list again, we found out that we have an upflow furnace, that has been turned upside down to make a downflow. Yay! At least at this point, we're not shocked, surprised or horrified at news like that anymore. We have thick skins. (Thus better to keep ticks away)

Cara won't, so I will.

So for the longest time, I have asked cara to gather up some pictures of our house (A.K.A. the death of me) and post them so I can feel validated. She never has, so I decided to take this bull by the horns and do it myself.....

If you don't know, we bought this house from a single lady who worked the night shift and seemed to love cats, dogs, indians, dolphins, and vhs tapes. Needless to say, this lifestyle will result in alot of pet hair, pet dander, and bad decorating which obviously had to change.

here are some of the before and after (or current) photos of the house. There is still a ton to do, but like cara said "It doesnt all have to be done in the first year".
