So in one day, we found 5 ticks on the neck of one of the lambs we were lambsitting.

We saved them all in ziplock baggies for some reason, maybe just to really drive it home. So that means that we have like an infestation of ticks on the side of our yard. NASTINESS! Never come to my house, or you might get a giant tick on you. And they aren't even that small. The biggest one is about the size of a fly. YUCK. Add it to the list of my unfavorite things for the house.
You'll only see 4, but that's because they keep attacking one of them, therefore, they are 1 together in that puff of lamb's wool on the left.
Here's the puff up close and personal. Enjoy.
We got out our Eyeclops (click for details) to magnify them later that night. It was GROSS.
And to add to the list again, we found out that we have an upflow furnace, that has been turned upside down to make a downflow. Yay! At least at this point, we're not shocked, surprised or horrified at news like that anymore. We have thick skins. (Thus better to keep ticks away)

That is just GROSS! Ticks really look like that? I don't need to see them any closer than that. That was awfully nice of you to lambsit for people that purchase lambs and then go out of town on business...hehe
Obviously I don't know you well enough to know whether you have your own lambs, or just like to lambsit... but is it possible that the lambs came with ticks? Nice pun, by the way. Also, you completely lost me with the upflow/downflow part - I feel so ignorant right now.

Wait, wait, wait.....you babysit LAMBS?????
Please do tell.
that is wayyyyyyyy more interesting than ticks!!!
Umm. Ewww. Who owns lambs? What century are we in? Am I lost? So did you have to go back to tick extraction procedure 101? Coat them with vaseline, burn their butts, don't pull them or their bodies will separate from their heads and their heads will bury inside the skin. Girls camp is coming back in a rush right now.
Those little things are NASTY! Looking at your ticks is worse than hearing styrofoam being scratched. My scalp is all tingly and I have goosebumps ON MY WHOLE BODY.
Seriously that is disgusting. Remind me not to go near your house. I think it is infested with Mice, Spider and now ticks. Oh and you have playgirl magazines too. What kind of people are you???? Totally kidding! That is really gross though
I was thinking the same thing as Mc Mommy! Who in the world would ask you to babysit their lambs??? Please share!
BLECH! I am so afraid of blood-sucking things... you know - ticks, mosquitos, leeches, my 2 year old. He's going through a biting phase.
I want to hear the lambsitting story too!
Here by way of POW's!
I don't have to tell you how much I HATE ticks! Little bastards. How is Brandon doing on the whole Lyme thing?
seriously must agree with everyone else...you babysit lambs?? i honestly didn't know lambs had babysitters??
happy POW-wow friday :)
See, I knew I wasn't alone in thinking babysitting LAMBS was wayyyyyyy more interesting than ticks!!! And you still haven't explained or posted one picture of lambs in your backyard! I need to see this.
Nasty. And now I am itching! I hate ticks! But i do like the song by Brad Paisley. To Cute!
I think I am going to throw up. They are so much grosser in a blown up picture like that. EW.
I don't think I've ever seen a tick before. Your blog is so educational. :)
1. lamb sitting?
2. NEVER show close up photos of tics again. As long as you {or I} live.
3. Promise me!
Since everyone else had commented on the grossness of ticks, I will second that, but more importantly I will second the coolness of the Eyeclops. I love ours! If you look at your hair in it, it will look so shiny and gorgeous and you'll feel so good about yourself. You would probably find a tick, though. Don't look for awhile.
