DUDE! This is right up there with the fine collectible and commemorative plate and coin collections. And yet, it's a monkey wearing a bonnet. PRICELESS!
I like how it has the artists name....I can only imagine what Darlene looks like. Hmmmmmm (fades off into daydream). Ok, Im back. I am picturing one of two people. The first is an elderly lady that smiles alot and has way too many trinkets around the house. The second is a heavier set woman in her 40's that wears stretch pants and Winnie the pooh sweaters.
I think it was a man. He works for a dollar store company. He decided that the time was right. He saw what crap Americans will purchase and went with it.
I too saw this, and was also tempted to order, if only because it's a change from the Eyes of Love dog ads, wherein they feature every breed known to man on their own stupid plate, saying "You look at me with eyes of love, blah blah blah, you think I'm far too wonderful to criticize or judge." Seriously??? There's someone who thinks their dog is so wonderful that it can't be criticized?! Anyway, the strangely fetus looking pocket sized monkey tempted me not when all was said and done. Maybe I will order it for you birthday though. When is it?

I'm laughing so hard right now. I'm glad to know that I am not the only one who gets laughter and a little disturbed by the things people come up with. Along with Brandon's comment, that 40 year old sweater lady is just sitting by her phone WAITING for someone to call to place an order. I'm tempted to call just to humor them. Excellent!!

Hold on!! My cousin and I were peeing our pants reading all the fine print of this little rascal. But, noone has mentioned that "Baby Jingles" has five brothers & sisters.. $180.00 for the collection! I then stumbled upon your website. My cousin was laughing so hard that nothing was coming out- I thought she hung up. So please, go check out his sibs- "Lil Sucker", and many fine other names!
My mom fell in love with it (fake love) and for the last however many months we have been making up stories about baby jingles. She speaks with a shrill annoying voice and she sure does love her "'nanas". She used to be an adult male monkey until they put her nuts in the microwave at the research facility. She has friends, too, like Grand Slam Sam (the porcelain pig with a solid gold tail). There are also songs and the monkey's picture is the background on our laptop. She also has a Saturday Morning Adventure Hour TV show. On Thursday, a box came in the mail. My stepdad had ordered a Baby JIngles for my mom, and the thing is even uglier in real life. Buy one!
